Is white skin really fair skin?
Something as basic as the color of our skin has shaped our lives, opened doors, put us at the head of the line.
Granted us privileges we don’t even realize.
We don’t experience the daily disadvantages - the looks, the fear, the hassles - that thrive in the unspoken world of white entitlement.
And that’s unfair.
imma start calling white people un-fair skinned now

“Unfair”, you said? Living with privilege, with the satisfaction that the level of melanin in the composition of your skin grants you instant labels of “beauty” and “perfection”, the fact that there are continents where women and men spend money to alter their skin to a point where they look a little “white”, that there is an established, confirmed, prevalent mindset in POC that tells them their complexion is “ugly” and “unwanted”, that white is perfect. That’s “unfair” to you?
